The Proton Saga is assembled at AVA, Associated Vehicle Assemblers, in Mombasa: brand-new cars, built by Kenyans, for Kenyan roads.
Brand new, for about the price of a used import.
When the Saga was launched at AVA in December 2020, President Uhuru Kenyatta noted that Kenyans could buy a brand-new car for the same price as an eight-year-old second-hand one, while creating jobs for the country's youth.
